Fires

San Diego is in the midst of dealing with major wildfires which have now spread into many communities. I'm fine and am in no imminent danger. I live in Mission Valley which is not too far from downtown and the beaches. It is shaping up to be very bad and will probably not end before Tuesday or Wednesday. No one has any idea how many homes have been lost but the numbers will be high. Many of the experts have indicated that this looks like it will be even worse than the devastating 2003 Cedar Fire which destroyed over 2200 homes. The air smells like smoke and it is very hazy. Many of my friends have been evacuated from their homes including one who just moved in to their new home on Saturday so my thoughts are with all of them.
